The vehicle may still start while the remote does nothing, or the range may have collapsed to a few centimetres. That can be a battery, the contacts, or a fob that has genuinely failed, and the three are easy to confuse without testing.

Cracked shells, missing buttons and buttons that need pressing three times are the everyday reality of a fob carried in a pocket for years. Where the shell is the whole problem it can often be addressed; where the internals are worn, a replacement fob is the reliable answer.

A new fob is not a plug-in part. It has to be introduced to the vehicle so the remote functions, and on keyless models the start system, recognise it. We supply and programme in the same visit rather than leaving you with an unpaired fob.
